Welcome and Good Luck to new Weldcraft Pro students! The class has just started and it is indeed a real gateway to become a Professional Wet Welder. Students will complete their 80 credit hours and the course is split over two phases; dry and wet weldings which include theories and practices. Finally, students have to sit for the final exam, witnessed by a third party SIRIM Inspector. The results will be examined by Weldcraft Pro in the UK, and verified by a reputable EAL SEMTA UK before they can be awarded with Certificate of Competence (Weldcraft Pro), Certificate of Verified Achievement (EAL) and Welder Qualification Test Certificate (E4) which is accredited by Zurich Surveyor. This programme follows the guidelines as stated under the European Welding Federation (EWF) document 570-01, with qualifications (codes) being awarded in accordance with ISO 15618-1:2016 or AWS D3.6M:2017 for fillet welds on plate and is the only class society (ABS) approved underwater welding programme available in the world.

Purpose: MM Matrix Integrity (M) Sdn Bhd (MMMI) is pleased to inform that a Talk on Safety and Wire Rope Inspection to Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) officers was successfully delivered on 25/08/21 by MMMI’s General Manager, Lt Commander (Rtd) RMN Ts Anizan Bin Ali, CEng, MIET. Congrats Ts Anizan! His remarkable talk InshaaAllah has provided an insight into the importance of structural integrity fundamental in wire ropes application per se. The wire rope Leeb technology that is exclusively carried by MMMI UWEC is considered a game changer in the wire rope engineering field apparently. This is because the equipment does not only provide a quality Local Flaw (LF) detection but most importantly though a reliable Loss of Metal Area (LMA) assessment (Note: a common and present practice is normally Local Flaw detection only). Hence, this benefit literally will help many asset owners sooner or later in terms of optimising the life span or usage of their wire ropes / cables without compromising safety aspects and/or other people’s lives. To learn more about this technology and equipment, our Underwater Welding Engineering Centre (UWEC) offers a FREE 2 Day Course to anyone whom is eligible under HRDC (formerly known as HRDF) Claimable Scheme.

Photostress Case Study: Validation of PhotoStress Method for Stress Analysis on a Pipe Spool
MM Matrix Integrity (M) Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) invited PETRONAS Group Technical Solutions to observe a demonstration of the PhotoStress® method. The demonstration’s purpose was to confirm that the PhotoStress® technology is reliable for measuring surface strain at defect and away from the defect areas (nominal). Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed on a carbon steel pipe spool, and results were validated against strain gage readings and empirical values.
